The Commission works to recruit and retain businesses in our community and oversees the Town's special commercial districts, as well as the Architectural and Design Standards associated with those districts.
The Redevelopment Commission also participates with Highland Main Street Bureau on issues related to such topics as the town's Commercial Property Improvement Grant program, as well as activities and events designed to promote and enhance downtown. The Commission also works with the Economic Development Commission on tax abatement proposals.

The Town of Highland, Indiana (Town) is seeking Requests for Proposals (RFP) from qualified consultants to provide professional services to prepare a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Transportation Safety Action Plan, the Project, pursuant to a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT). This RFP is a qualification-based selection process. A consultant's qualifications will be used to analyze all RFPs submitted in a timely manner. Upon completion of technical ranking, the Town will enter negotiations with the top ranked firm. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all submittals. The Project will be funded, in part, with a SS4A Action Plan Grant and has a not-toexceed budget of $300,000. All RFPs received (date stamped as filed) by 4:00 p.m. (CDT) on May 1, 2024 at the Town's office will be given equal consideration.
